Terms of Use for "Mood Changes in Dance Classes for Children and Adolescents: A Longitudinal Study" Study

Welcome to the "Mood Changes in Dance Classes for Children and Adolescents: A Longitudinal Study" study. By participating in this study, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

1. Study Overview

This study, conducted by the University of Pennsylvania and led by Tiffany Henderson, aims to explore the potential of dance classes in alleviating anxiety and depression in adolescent women.

2. Eligibility

Participation is open to dancers enrolled at Tiffany's Dance Academy. Participants must be at least 5 years old to participate. Parental consent via waiver is required for minors.

3. Voluntary Participation

Participation in this study is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time without penalty.

4. Data Collection

The study involves:

- Completing the PANAS-C (Positive and Negative Affect Schedule - Child Form) survey periodically.

- In-class mood tracking using emoji selections before and after dance classes.

5. Data Use and Privacy

All data collected will be used solely for research purposes. Personal information will be kept confidential and anonymized in any published results. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

6. Responsibilities of Participants

Participants agree to:

- Provide honest and accurate responses to surveys and mood tracking.

- Complete the PANAS-C survey as requested throughout the dance season.

- Participate in the in-class mood logging system.

7. Risks and Benefits

There are no known risks associated with participation. Potential benefits include contributing to research on adolescent mental health and dance education.

8. Intellectual Property

All study materials, including surveys and mood tracking tools, are the property of the University of Pennsylvania and Tiffany Henderson. Participants may not reproduce or distribute these materials without permission.

9. Changes to the Study

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the study at any time. Participants will be notified of any significant changes.
